The seaside village of Praia da Luz (pronounced loozh) lies in the Algarve just outside Lagos, 6km to the west. Traditionally it has been a fishing village specializing in octopus potting.

Today Luz is a small yet thriving beach resort with quality waterside apartments & villas. The main attraction being Luz's beach with its arced bay and stunning headland; the Rocha Negra.

Other than the glorious beaches Luz is a fully equipped resort with ample quality shops, restaurants & bars. There are two water sports centers on the beach offering sailing, windsurfing and deep-sea diving. Surfing is possible at Luz although the waves are much bigger on the Atlantic coast.

Outside of Luz you can make trips to Lagos, Sagres or Monchique, buy fresh food in the markets of Lagos, enjoy the world famous bar scene or simply sit back and relax on the verandah of your villa in Praia da Luz.
