The Nightlife in Praia da Luz

Praia da Luz is not best known for its nightlife. The resort is small with several small bars and one nightclub. It is however only five kms from the provincial capital of Lagos which is famouse for its bar culture and nightlife.

In Luz evenings can be spent eating in one of the many local restaurants. The area along the seafront attracts couples for an evening strole, a coffee or perphaps a glass of wine or beer.

The ocean clubs bar by the main pool is a popular nightspot among the young as are the two pavement bars by the beach. There are also several other bars that are busy with families and groups of holiday makers of all ages during the summer months. Try the bulls head for an English feel or the sports bar by the village church for the football, formula 1 or a game of pool.

5 Kms away are the picturesque, pedestrianised, cobbled streets of Lagos's old town centre, where the bars spill out onto the streets and thousands of joyful holiday makers from around the world share stories, party together and famousely dance on the tables. Bars such as Whites and Joes Tavern are popular with late night drinkers and are world famouse for their lively atmosphere. Lagos is a busy nightspot from March right thru to late october.

Most of the bars close after 2AM but there are some that stay open later. Some dance clubs stay open till well after sunrise.

Lagos has an excellent reputation for its nights which are a world away from the mobs in Ibiza and the Costa del Sol.. Taxis to and from Lagos are just 7 euros and the bus can be taken before 7pm.
